The 12 Character Limit and Other Hard Truths

The Raptors are 33 and 23 now. They beat the Bulls 110 to 101 last night. Brandon Ingram had 33 points because that is apparently his job.

I was thinking about how much progress we have made as a society. Then I looked at the box score. 110 points is a lot of points, but it is also just a number between 109 and 111.

Someone on the internet is making a sketch after every single game. We are 56 games into the season. That is a high level of commitment to a team that often makes me want to stare at a blank wall for forty-five minutes.

The Logistics of Hope

We play the Bucks on February 22nd at 3:00 PM. That is a Sunday afternoon game. Sunday afternoons are for grocery shopping and wondering if you should have bought the organic kale.

There is a person looking for a Sandro Mamukelashvili jersey. They call him Mamu. Their girlfriend might have used a scam website to buy one.

This is a problem because custom jerseys have a 12 character limit. Mamukelashvili has 15 letters. You cannot fit that much name on a standard piece of polyester without things getting crowded.

Draft Thoughts and Low Quality Images

People are asking if Bobby Webster is stupid for not waiting to draft Audi Crooks. It is a valid question, mostly because I like the name Audi. It sounds fast, like the car, but also steady, like a library.

Someone posted a visualization of the lineups from last night. They apologized for it being low quality. Most things are low quality if you look at them long enough (my old Honda Civic, for example).

The Raptors managed to hold on against Chicago. Holding on is what we do. We hold on to leads, we hold on to old jerseys, and we hold on to the hope that one day we will understand the rotation.

I do not know where this season is going. It is going to Milwaukee next. I hope they have enough room on the jerseys for everyone's name. It would be a shame to leave out a letter or two.
